Don’t Fence Me In

Lately, I’ve been frustrated because my Prisma app keeps crashing. It started this past Monday, just after I returned from a 5-day road trip, and (sadly) with many new photos to play with. Sigh. I’ve tried fixing it; off-loading old photos and deleting unused apps, but to no avail.

However, I still have other fun apps that work.

During our trip, my husband and I stopped at a roadside rest area in central Utah where we found three charming little donkeys waiting to greet us. I talked to them, scratched their heads and took photos. Somehow they reminded me of the Cole Porter song, “Don’t Fence Me In”.

So, below are two images, plus the lyrics to Cole Porter’s song. The images were edited with Snapseed, ToonCamera and Fontmania.

DON’T FENCE ME IN by Cole Porter

Oh, give me land, lots of land under starry skies above

Don’t fence me in

Let me ride through the wide open country that I love

Don’t fence me in
Let me be by myself in the evenin’ breeze

And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees

Send me off forever, but I ask you please

Don’t fence me in
Just turn me loose

Let me straddle my old saddle

Underneath the Western skies
Let me wander over yonder

Till I see the mountains rise
I want to ride to the ridge where the West commences

And gaze at the moon till I lose my senses

And I can’t look at hobbles and I can’t stand fences

Don’t fence me in
